Terms of service
Version 1.0, 11 October 2026.
1. Who we are
FirstLook Sites ("we", "us") is the trading name of Jamie Atherton, a sole trader (no company number). The contracting party is Jamie Atherton trading as FirstLook Sites. Business address for correspondence: 21 Farringford Gardens, Warrington, WA4 3ED. We are an AI-assisted web studio. We work online and by email only: no calls, meetings or site visits. Contact: hello@firstlooksites.co.uk.
2. Who these terms are for
Our services are sold to businesses only (limited companies, LLPs, PLCs and other business customers acting for business purposes). At checkout you must tick a box confirming that you are buying for business purposes and are authorised to bind your business. By ordering you confirm you are not buying as a consumer.
3. What you get (the Launch Package, £395 one-off)
- A static website of 3–5 pages.
- Copy rewritten from your current website content (you supply or approve it).
- A contact form (Netlify Forms or Formspree).
- Basic on-page SEO (titles, descriptions, headings, sensible structure).
- A link to your Google Business Profile.
- Two rounds of revisions by email.
- Launch on your own domain. You own the domain and keep it.
Not included: logo design, photography, e-commerce, booking systems, custom code or integrations, ongoing SEO work, domain registration fees, third-party licences. Extra pages are £60 each. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.
4. Preview first
We may build a private preview before you order. Previews are samples we prepared unprompted, are marked as such, are not indexed by search engines, and are deleted after 14 days or on request. A preview is not a contract and creates no obligation to pay.
5. Ordering, payment and timing
- You order by paying our Stripe payment link and ticking the business-purposes confirmation. Payment in full is taken before your site goes live.
- Delivery target: 5 working days after (a) payment and (b) your sign-off of the content. If we are waiting for you, the clock stops.
- Revisions: two rounds, requested by email, covering changes to the agreed pages. New pages or a change of scope are quoted separately.
- Go-live: we launch once you confirm approval. You are responsible for giving us (or following our guide to make) the DNS changes needed.
6. Care Plan (optional), £19 per month
- Covers hosting management, up to 30 minutes of edits a month, and uptime checks.
- A Stripe subscription, billed monthly, optional and removable from your quote.
- Unused minutes do not roll over. Work beyond 30 minutes is quoted first.
- Cancel any time by email; it ends at the end of the current paid month. No refund for part-months.
7. Your responsibilities
- Give accurate information and content you have the right to use (text, images, logos).
- Check the finished site for accuracy, including legal details required of your business (company name, number, registered office, VAT number if you are registered, any professional-body information). We do not check regulatory compliance of your content.
- Keep your domain and DNS accounts secure.
8. Intellectual property
- On full payment, you own the final website copy and design we created for you. Third-party components (fonts, stock images, frameworks) stay under their own licences.
- You grant us a licence to use your content to build and host the site.
- We will not show your site in our portfolio or quote you as a testimonial without your written permission.
- Until payment is received in full, we keep all rights in the work.
9. AI-assisted work
We use AI tools to draft copy and code, with checks before delivery. You must review and approve content before launch. We do not guarantee that content is free of every error, so please check facts, prices and claims.
10. No guarantees of results
We do not promise rankings, traffic, enquiries or sales. Search and speed scores (for example Google PageSpeed) vary by test and over time. We aim for a fast, secure, tidy site but do not guarantee a specific score.
11. Third-party services
Hosting, forms, payments and email run on third parties (for example Netlify, Stripe, Formspree). We are not responsible for their outages or changes, but will help you work around them under the Care Plan where reasonable.
12. Liability
- Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
- Subject to that, our total liability to you arising from the services, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, data or goodwill, or for indirect or consequential loss.
13. Cancellation and refunds
See our refund policy. In short: a full refund before work starts on your order; a partial refund once work has started (75% before the first draft); and a full refund if we cannot deliver. Every refund, of any amount, is approved by the proprietor personally; our staff and AI tools cannot promise or issue a refund, or change a price, on their own.
14. Ending the agreement
Either side may end the agreement for a serious uncured breach after 14 days' written notice by email. We may suspend a site that is unlawful or abusive.
15. Data protection
We process personal data in line with our privacy notice. Where we host your contact form submissions, you are the controller of that data and we process it on your behalf only to provide the service.
16. General
- These terms and any order are the entire agreement. English law applies; the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
- We may update these terms for future orders; the terms in force when you pay apply to that order.
- Notices are valid by email.
- Neither side is liable for delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
